Step 1:

Water and raw materials are mixed together until a fine sand like consistency is reached. Clay, silica sand and other materials are included in the mixture.

Step 2:

In this next step, the mixture is pured into a large mixer and all of the materials are mixed with the right amount of moisture to create a perfect consistency of porcelain before it is moved into a press.

 Step 3:

Now, the porcelain mixture is poured into a large metal mold and pressed to form the tile pattern on both sides of the clay. This process is called Greenware (unfired pottery).

Step 4.

Next, the curing process begins. The Greenware is placed in a dryer to remove moisture and any dust, preparing the tiles for the next step.

Step 5:

After the tiles have dried, a primer glazed is sprayed on the tile. This will secure the color from fading or from any discoloration.

Step 6:

Using a state of the art ink jet-printer, the pattern is printed using a mixture of ink designed specifically for greenware. Then another curing process begins.

Step 7:

A second layer of glaze is sprayed, and the tile is fired in extreme high heat.  As a result, the porcelain floor tiles are very hard and dense.
